Event Summary | A webinar to explore key ideas in the effective teaching of ratio and proportion | ||||||
Event description | Ratio and proportion can seem like a challenging concept for many of our learners to grasp. With the only overt references in the National Curriculum for England (2014) being within the expectations for Year 6, some key concepts may not receive enough focus in earlier years in the primary phase. Yet, a secure understanding of this area of the curriculum by the end of the primary phase is needed to support progress into the curriculum for Key Stage 3. This webinar will explore key concepts in the teaching of ratio and proportion that occur throughout the primary phase. An excellent counterpart webinar to this session would be Effective Teaching of Fractions, Percentages and Decimals. |
